Stefanie F. Smith, PHD



Dr. Stefanie F. Smith has been a scholar-athlete all her life.  She played in top divisions in both high school and college sports.  In addition, she worked as a coach of both girls’ basketball and girls’ volleyball for fours years, then worked as an educator at Carrabassett Valley Academy, an elite ski program in Maine.

When Dr. Smith attended University of Connecticut to pursue her Clinical Psychology degree, she also began formal training in Sports Psychology.  While at UCONN, she worked at the Counseling Program for Intercollegiate Athletes and taught a class specifically designed for elite college athletes.

After leaving University of Connecticut, she became founding partner of the Peak Performance Plus Program, initially part of Arbour Health Systems and in consultation with Boston University personnel.

Dr. Smith has specialized training in EMDR which can be utilized for injury recovery and peak performance among other applications.

Finally, she has published in the area of Sports Psychology.  This includes  an article published in Psychopharmacology:
